HS2 Consultation and Roadshows
The Society has produced a list of ideas for questions at the HS2 roadshows.
Our experience at Chalfont St Giles was that the advisors did not know or were not prepared to commit themselves on answers to technical questions. If you ask, you can obtain a card from them to detail your question and they will respond to you in due course. You will need to keep a record of the question.
Failure by HS2 Ltd / Department for Transport (DfT) to answer questions can call the validity of the Consultation into question. Please let the Society know if you do not receive a response.
To help formulate the questions and to provide a record, please see our pro forma form (30KB PDF) together with the list of ideas for questions (40KB PDF). Right click to download these PDFs, left click to view in your browser.
The Roadshows are being held at:
• Gt Missenden – 12 May – Link Road Car Park
• Wendover – 13/14 May – Wendover Memorial Hall
• Amersham – 18/19 May – Amersham & Chiltern Rugby Club.
'No to HS2' Information Days to provide you with more information, organised by local Action Groups, are being held at:
• Little Chalfont – 14 May 9am – Village Hall/Farmers Market
• Amersham – 15 May 2pm – King George V Playing Fields
We encourage you to attend and to ask questions. You may be asked to complete the response to HS2 Consultation on-line at the show. Our advice is to resist this on the basis that you want to think about it. The closing date for the Consultation is 29 July 2011.
Once you have sufficient information, please ensure you complete the Consultation responses before 29 July 2011.

HS2 blown away at Chalfont St Giles
Yesterday's roadshow was well attended, but rather disappointing. It comprised a tent with leaflets, a booth with interactive maps and 2 sound booths, which left you thinking, this is a joke!
The 'advisors' were not able to answer many detailed technical
questions. Altogether a bit of a farce.

We trust that HS2 Ltd railway engineering is somewhat more substantial than their roadshow!
