We have created or improved several school wildlife areas recently.
Farley Junior School, Dunstable – in conjunction with HSBC and with help from Wyevale Nurseries
The school chose a grassy corner of its field as a space to develop as a resource for learning. Pupils provided ideas for plants and habitats. HSBC trainees managed the project, digging holes to plant a hedge and climbing plants along the boundary. We aim to set up future joint projects like this one, which benefits both schools and businesses.
Beechview School, High Wycombe
£500 has been donated to the school to help with paths, a pond dipping platform, and seating for pupils, following the renovation of their wildlife area by our Conservation Volunteers, working with pupils, staff and parents.
Curzon School, Penn
Conservation Volunteers have used their time and expertise to bring the school's quite extensive woodland back into use. They have also relined the school pond, replanted it, and renovated the surrounding area.
