Managing the Beds
The management plan currently in effect was prepared in 2008 by Sarah Coulson-Phillips, under the guidance of the Management Plan Review Committee on Behalf of the Chiltern Society.
In the plan, the Review Committee was guided by a shared vision for the future as follows.
For people and wildlife
Our vision is that Ewelme Watercress Beds & Local Nature Reserve should be a site that is celebrated for its:
- contribution to the local landscape
- creative conservation of local social and industrial heritage
- sensitive site management (in order to aid the conservation of priority habitats and species).
The site should also be a place that generates enthusiasm for conservation by providing public access, volunteering opportunities and education.
