Donate-a-Gate

Our Donate-a-Gate scheme is carried out by our Path Maintenance Volunteers, at the request of the County Council Rights of Way Officers and is intended improve access for all users.

It is particularly intended however for those who find stiles difficult to cope with. Some are specifically designed to allow access by users of mobility vehicles on some routes. The maintenance of a stile is seen, quite rightly, as a cheaper option to its replacement with a gate, but with your donation we are replacing some stiles.

To acknowledge your help, the gate can carry a short inscription with the name of the donor and the date of the donation. Short memorial inscriptions can also be made.

Fo rmore information about the scheme, please contact the Chiltern Society office on 01494 771250

Patricia Burstall was the first gate donor to respond following the launch of the scheme. Here she is seen viewing the newly erected plaque on her donated gate at Great Marlow on path GMA44, off Seymour Court Lane.
