Conservation The Chiltern Society, supported by the Countryside Agency and in close cooperation with the Conservation Board and its constituent members, aim to increase the pool of volunteers known to be available for conservation and allied work in the Chilterns. A dedicated team of co-ordinators and volunteer facilitators identify and assess proposed work, marshal working parties selected in the main from registered volunteers, to tackle appropriate jobs. In planning the programme of work the conservation group co-operates closely with County, District and Parish Councils, with landowners, and with amenity and conservation societies. For details about how to volunteer for conservation work please contact Christine Breden on 01844 353192.
