The Don Millar Fund

The Society is proud to be able to offer The Don Millar Fund to members of the public or groups wishing to embark on conservation schemes within their communities in the Chilterns.

The fund has been established to emphasise the commitment of the Society to conservation within the Chilterns and particularly to commemorate the substantial contribution made to conservation work generally throughout the Chilterns by the late Don Millar.

Examples of projects for which grants will be made available include:
• Community Notice Boards
• Directional signs leading to improved awareness of amenities
• Improvements in access to amenities to assist the disabled
• Clearance in and around village ponds
• Hedge planting and/or reconstruction
• Management of non-native trees
• Hire of equipment and/or specialised tools to assist with conservation work to be undertaken by applicants
• Maintenance of footpaths and access areas

Grants will normally be considered for projects costing between £150 and £500. However, the Fund does have discretion to vary these limits in appropriate circumstances.
