Most work needed, for example, planting, fencing, and other maintenance is done by volunteers.
An example of hedge laying by volunteers, at Toothill in Bottom Wood, is shown in the picture on this page. Contractors are brought in occasionally for major felling and timber extraction.
Work parties take place on one Sunday per month from October to April. Occasionally, work parties are also held on weekdays and during the summer – details in ‘Diary of events’ on the Chiltern Society website homepage.
